Terms and Conditions - FocusReader Pro

Please read this End User License Agreement carefully before using FocusReader Pro.

This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a binding legal agreement between you (the "End-User") and the developer of FocusReader Pro. By downloading, installing, or using the Application, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.

1. Scope of License

The Developer grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use FocusReader Pro on any Apple-branded products that you own or control as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the App Store Terms of Service. This license governs any updates or supplements to the original Application unless such update is accompanied by a separate license.

2. Description of Service

FocusReader Pro is a productivity application designed to facilitate rapid reading and text consumption. The application provides tools for text processing, visual pacing, and reading analytics.

3. Purchase Models and Subscriptions

FocusReader Pro offers two methods to access premium features:

Yearly Subscription

Important: Your subscription will automatically renew

Access to premium features is billed annually. This subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current annual period.

One-Time Purchase

A single payment provides a perpetual license to the current version's premium features for the lifetime of the application on the current platform.

All payments are processed via the Apple App Store. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions in your App Store Account Settings.

4. Consent to Use of Data

You agree that the Developer may collect and use technical data and related information—including but not limited to technical information about your device, system, and application software—to facilitate software updates, product support, and other services.

Your Privacy Matters

We do not keep any content on our servers. Everything stays on your device.

5. Intellectual Property

All title, ownership rights, and intellectual property rights in and to FocusReader Pro (including but not limited to the "FocusReader" branding, speed-reading algorithms, UI design, and code) are owned by the Developer. You may not:

Decompile or reverse engineer the Application
Disassemble or attempt to derive the source code of the Application
Create derivative works based on the Application

6. Termination

The license is effective until terminated by you or the Developer. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any terms of this Agreement. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Application and destroy all copies.

7. External Services; Disclaimer of Warranties

The Application may enable access to third-party services and websites (e.g., cloud storage for importing documents). Use of these services is at your sole risk.

Disclaimer

The Application is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," with all faults and without warranty of any kind. The Developer does not warrant that the speed-reading features will improve reading comprehension or retention for all users.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent not prohibited by law, in no event shall the Developer be liable for personal injury, or any incidental, special, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever, including, without limitation, damages for:

Loss of profits
Loss of data
Business interruption

arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Application.

9. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Singapore, excluding its conflicts of law rules.
